TWO good causes will be hundreds of pounds better off thanks to the generosity shown at a community lunch.
Hosted at Bickington Village Hall, the latest 'Community Soup and Pud Lunch Club', which took place on Saturday, March 11, saw more than four hundred pounds raised.
The funds are to be shared between the repair costs of St. Mary's church and Animals in Distress, a local charity that takes in, cares for and re-homes more than 600 homeless, lost and abandoned animals each year.
On offer was a smorgasbord of: homemade soups; main courses; bread rolls; puddings; tea; coffee and much more besides.
Each month Bickington Village Hall hosts a community lunch, with funds raised going to the church repair fund and a chosen charity, which differs each month.
