AND we have lift off...
Thousands are set to flock to Teignmouth today as the town’s ever popular airshow gets underway.
The show, which takes places on Saturday, July 1, and is only possible thanks to a team of hard-working volunteers, will feature the iconic Red Arrows.
The Red Arrows will be joined in the skies by the RAF Typhoon display team, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the Starlings, Richard Goodwin Pitts Special and the Aerosuperbatics WingWalkers.
It is, of course, weather dependent.
Ahead of the main event, the 2023 official Teignmouth Airshow programme was launched last Saturday.
Award-winning artist Laura Wall has again designed the artwork for the programme.
Laura said: ‘It was wonderful to be asked again by the organisers of Teignmouth Air Show to create the artwork for the front cover of the official 2023 programme, I do hope you like it.’
Limited edition framed prints of her artwork are also available to purchase.
Airshow organisers say this year’s line-up ‘looks fantastic’ and thanked the generous supporters and sponsors who have donated to make the event happen.
It is expected that the aircraft displays will take place between 1pm and 6pm.
Organisers are recommending visitors use public transport to travel to the show.
For public safety many of the roads in and out of the town will be closed from 7am on the day with limited parking available in the town.
Out of town parking will be available at the playing fields behind Morrisons.
Parking is charged at £5 per car all day from 8am to 8pm and proceeds from the car park will go to Teignmouth Scouts.
Either side of the Airshow there is entertainment to be had.
