Mother’s Day can be hard for those who have lost a mum or mum-figure. But a Newton Abbot funeral parlour hopes to provide some comfort with the installation of a ‘Letters to Heaven’ post-box.

The silver post-box provides a way for people to express their thoughts and feelings and send a Mother’s Day card or letter to someone who is no longer with us.

Parker’s Independent Family Funeral Directors has placed the letters to heaven post-box in the driveway of its premises on Devon Square.

The initiative follows the success of its Christmas Letters to Heaven post-box, which enabled people to post cards, letters or pictures to passed on loved ones.
