A NEWTON Abbot man has been jailed for a month for assaulting a woman and drink-driving.
Kierran Roy Fairey, aged 31, of Forde Close, admitted assaulting a woman by beating in Torquay.
South and West Devon Magistrates' Court sentenced Fairey to four weeks in prison giving the reason: ‘Offence so serious because failed to attend a number of probation appointments.’
He must also pay £128 to fund victim services.
Fairey also admitted assaulting a man in Torquay and was jailed for two weeks, to run concurrent with the first sentence.
He also admitted taking a black Nissan Juke without the owner’s consent. He was jailed for two weeks, to run concurrent with the first sentence.
Fairey further admitted he drove the Nissan Juke when he was over the drink-drive limit. He gave a reading of 40 mcgs in 100 mls of breath. The legal limit is 35 mcgs. He was sentenced to a further two weeks in jail, to run concurrent with the first sentence. This means the overall sentence was four weeks in jail. On this charge Fairey was also banned from driving for 12 months.
