DAWLISH firefighter, Jon Waller, has passed his two-week, intensive Emergency Fire Appliance Driving course.

This means he can now drive the fire engine, with the blue lights screaming, of course, to incidents.

The course involved acute concentration on Jon's part so as to learn, and then master, the profession driving techniques needed to manoeuvre the appliance through traffic safety and in all weather conditions.

Dawlish Fire Station took to its Facebook page to announce the good news, saying: 'Congratulations Jon and enjoy a well earned rest!'
