A MURALIST whose work can be found across the globe recently worked this magic at a Newton Abbot deli.

Hailing from Tandil, Argentina, muralist Sebastián Oyarbide, who goes by the ‘Seba Cener’, has stamped the Plot Deli with his signature style.

The deli’s Kris Hanson spotted Sebastián’s handiwork off Halcyon Road and, after having reached out to the artist’s mum, who lives in Newton Abbot, managed to catch the 29-year-old before he jetted off to the United States.

‘I normally paint big portraits, so by comparison this was much faster!’ Sebastián said

Kris said it was an ‘absolute honour’ to have Sebastián paint such an ‘amazing’ mural on his shop front.

Sebastián’s murals have attracted widespread attention, his recent Fleetwood mural of an upside-down fisherman being covered by the BBC, for example.

‘It took me five days, and with all the scaffolding, it was a challenge!’ Sebastián said.
