AN independent school near Newton Abbot has been named in the top ten for A-level performance by the Department for Education.

A mixed sex independent school for ages three to 18-years-old, Stover School ranked third, narrowly trailing Blundell’s School and Exeter Mathematics School, which came second and first respectively.

This comes as A Level marks from the summer of 2024 have been ratified.

The scores are calculated by comparing the A Level results of students at the college with the A Level results of students across England who started with similar results at the end of Year 11.

Stover School was the only education provider in Teignbridge to make the top ten.
