FIREFIGHTERS have released dramatic pictures of the blaze that destroyed a commercial unit at a business park.

Both fire engines from Newton Abbot joined in the fight to put out the fire at Barkingdon Business Park near Staverton yesterday morning, Friday.

Crews from across the region helped prevent fire from spreading to neighbouring units.

These pictures were posted on Facebook by Newton Abbot Fire Station.

Among the crews dealing with the blaze were from Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey, Ashburton, Paignton, Ivybridge, Plympton, Torquay, Chagford, Dawlish, North Tawton,  and Buckfastleigh.

Fire control reported the firefighters were called out shortly before 6am and by 4pm the incident has been scaled down to one appliance. This was a fire in a building that consisted of seven industrial units, accidental cause.
