A CAR fire in the Whiddon area saw firefighters from Chagford mobilised.

The incident, which took place on Friday, August 24, saw the crew joined by their colleagues from the South Western Ambulance Service, one of whom was the crew's very own Rex McGlynn - a foot in both camps.

'Being an on call station means our firefighters are made up of people from all different backgrounds and occupations' a spokesman for Chagford Fire Station said.
