A HIGH tea event at a Dartmoor village in celebration of National Tea Day has been cancelled.

Widecombe Hall CIO, the body overseeing the construction of a new community space for residents of Widecombe-in-the-Moor, have decided to cancel its upcoming High Tea event.

The event, which was to take place on April 21, has been cancelled due to there being a number of events on around that time.

A spokesman for Widecombe Hall CIO said: 'As there are lots of local community events happening around the Coronation in May we have decided to cancel our High Tea event and maybe hold it some other time.

'Sorry for any inconvenience caused.'
