POLICE were still making their presence known in Dawlish Warren this afternoon, at the scene of the serious incident in the early hours of Christmas morning.

They have been keeping a high profile at the holiday park after a ‘fight’ broke out, which reportedly forced people to leave on Christmas Day.

Officers received reports of the serious incident at Welcome Family Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren in the early hours of Christmas morning.

Families took to Facebook to say their stay in Dawlish Warren was ruined by a Christmas night violent incident at a holiday park.

While others have voiced their support and appreciation for the staff and owners of the Welcome Family Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said on Christmas Day that they couldn't disclose full details at this stage but added: ‘There was significant disorder at the Welcome Family Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren, during the early hours of December 25.

‘Police are investigating a grievous bodily harm incident related to the disturbance.’

‘A police presence will remain in the area, highly visible for the next 24 hours to respond to community concerns.’

The holiday park has agreed it will make a comment.
