LITTLEHEMPSTON farmer David Goss rounded off a wonderful year by taking the Supreme Championship at Saturday's Newton Abbot Christmas Show with a two-year-old South Devon heifer-cross.
'I bought the champion in Newton Abbot Market last autumn as a suckled calf from Richard Gray, of Holne,' said Mr Goss, of Hemsbrook Farm.
Mr Gray, who bred the heifer, was at the show to see the success of the animal whom Mr Goss has named 'Gray' after him.
The heifer was judged the best beef bullock at Widecombe Fair in September which was the beginning of an incredible run for Mr Goss with his steer Wrinkles as well.
