I was outraged to read Lindsey Sill's report on the sow with 11 piglets which was kept in such appalling conditions, and that she was hungry, thin and in poor condition (Mid-Devon Advertiser July 31).

I used to look after pigs many years ago, they are delightful animals and are very clean in that they use the same corner to defecate.

May I suggest that Victor Wilmington, of Ingsdon, be kept in the same conditions for 24 hours then he might appreciate the misery he inflicted on his pigs.

I trust he will never be allowed to keep any animals again.
