Kingsteignton weather watcher Mark Rowe confirmed what everyone was saying this week – it was freezing.
In Sandygate his thermometer plummeted to -9 Celsius (16F) on Friday, falling further still to -9.4 Celsius (14.5F) on Tuesday 7th.
'The temperature of -9.4C is the coldest that I have recorded here stretching back to August 1993,' he said
'The previous record of -9.2C (15F) was attained in January this year.'
Mark also confirmed that November had been slightly wetter than usual, with a recorded rainfall of 4.53 inches, the long term November average being 4.29 inches.
