FIVE people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Exeter Racecourse.

Police said the incident involved one vehicle on the road between the A38 and A380.

It occurred in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, August 8.

The road between the racecourse and the Texaco petrol station on Telegraph Hill had been closed, but it is now open, the Mid-Devon Advertiser understands.

Nevertheless, drivers are being advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes if possible.
