A DEVELOPMENT company is determined to go ahead with a controversial plan to build about 200 new homes on a greenfield site on the Teignmouth-Bishopsteignton boundary.
Waddeton Park Ltd wants to consult with the town and parish councils before going to public consultation and submitting a planning application on fields west of Shepherd's Lane-Mill Lane.
It would swell the Teignmouth population by around 600, and many residents fear it could overwhelm the infrastructure of the town.
But Tim Baker, the company development manager, emphasised that the scheme, adjoining the Coombe Valley estate, would provide 'many badly needed affordable homes'.
