A TEAM of Buckfastleigh firefighters have come up ‘trumps’ with a new video to mark a major change at the station.
The crew has recreated a classic scene from the children’s TV show Trumpton.
The station’s regular weekly drill night has always been held on Tuesday evenings.
But on moving it to Wednesdays, the firefighters said: ‘We thought we’d make a little video to mark the change…’
The short video replicates the animated footage of the Trumpton fire crew getting onto their fire engine to the background of the programme's familiar theme music.
First shown on the BBC in 1967, the programme’s best-loved feature was its fire brigade.
Under the command of Captain Flack, the roll-call was recited in almost all episodes of ‘Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb’.
Buckfastleigh’s own crew has cleverly followed the animation faithfully.
Comments on their social media post said it was ‘brilliant’ and ‘clever’.
