WITH bucket and sponge in hand, Chagford firefighters scrubbed their way to more than £1,000 worth of donations at their charity car-wash.

A spokesman for Chagford Fire Station said: 'We would like to thank everyone who supported our car wash for the firefighters charity.

'We raised an amazing £1093.50'

The money raised will go toward The Fire Fighters Charity, which offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to live happier and healthier lives.
