FIREFIGHTERS have been battling a blaze on the grass verge next to the A38 at Kenn this afternoon, Saturday.

Crews from Danes Castle and Middlemoor attended the fire from 11am on the grass verge next to the A38 near Haldon Hill.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘Approximately 50 metres of the grass bank adjacent to the highway was alight.

‘The fire was extinguished by crews using one hose reel jet and beaters.’
