A TOTAL of three fire engines from Moretonhampstead, Chagford and North Tawton stations were sent to Moretonhampstead this afternoon after reports of smoke issuing from a building.
On arriving at the scene crews entered the property wearing 2 breathing apparatus and with a hose reel jet, and discovered a fire in the kitchen involving food on the cooker. A fire service spokesman said: "The fire was extinguished using the hose reel jet and ventilated the property.
The contents of the cooker was removed to open air. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots."
