ON two occasions during the weekend Devon Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Church House Inn, Torbryan. At 8.25pm on Saturday a crew from Newton Abbot and another from Torquay went to the inn after smoke was reported in the property. They used a thermal imaging camera to locate the source and found the fire had involved a small amount of electrical insulation which was out. On Sunday lunchtime (OCTOBER 18) appliances from Newton Abbot and Totnes were mobilised to the inn after reports that a fuse-box was smoking in the property. A small fire was found within an electrical installation and the crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera and the power supply was isolated.
