AFTER three long years, Teignmouth Arts Action Group (TAAG) is approaching its re-opening for local artists and community involvement.

Since buying the building in Somerset Place, in the heart of Teignmouth’s Arts Quarter, from Teignbridge Council, a huge amount of work has continued out of sight to plan and prepare for its re-birth.

Originally the idea of Liz Lockyear, a successful triumvirate forger, with Roger Smith and Julia Vella evolved to bring it to this point after more than a decade of growth.

The first weekend in March saw 10 people set-to with white paint on the newly created gallery walls.

This upcoming weekend (10am and 4pm ) more helpers are invited to join in with completing the painting of the ground floor.

TAAG has shed its old skin and as the metamorphosis begins it offers an exciting experience and sense of belonging for anyone with an interest in the arts within the local community to get on board and be part of its growth.
