Young thespians from across Teignbridge came together for the Junior Shakespeare Festival at Newton Abbot College on Friday.

The actors from various primary schools including Ipplepen, Kingskerswell, Denbury and Canada Hill all performed works by the Bard such as Macbeth, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest.

Newton Abbot College students were also involved and took to the stage performing Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth.

The event was coordinated by Judy Leigh, advanced skills teacher at Newton Abbot College.

'We visited all primary schools to create workshops on all plays to empower understanding of our literary cultural heritage,' she said.

'They are highly motivated and talented youngsters.'
