AMBITIOUS plans have been unveiled for an £8 million solar farm on the edge of Ashburton.More than 30 acres of farmland will be covered by glass just a kilometre outside the town if developer SunFarming UK wins public approval.It launched an offensive for the 'green' project at Parkfield Farm between Ashburton and Landscove earlier this week.Agents acting for the applicants claim the 13-hectare site – just inside the South Hams – is 'ideal' for the generation of electricity to power 1,500 homes.
