The Collati Singers will be performing in Buckfast Abbey next weekend with a concert that celebrates release from musical lockdown
The 7.30pm concert on Saturday, November 6, will include music recorded virtually during lockdowns and sung collectively on Zoom last year.
In additional two exuberant works expressing delight at being able to sing again will be featured, namely Bach’s motet Lobet den Herrn and Rutter’s Gloria, the latter with organ accompaniment by Peter King (Bath Abbey) and percussion by Simon Pembury, conducted by musical director Trefor Farrow.
The tracks recorded virtually in lockdown are available on the choir’s website www.collatisingers.co.uk or their YouTube channel.

Looking ahead to the festive period their popular Christmas concert will take place at Stoke Damerel Church in Plymouth on Sunday, December 12 at 3pm, and will include two Christmas motets, some seasonal settings and a selection of lighter carols.
The Damerel Belles women’s ensemble will also sing two short sets, conducted and accompanied by Trefor Farrow.
