A PAIR of enterprising West Ogwell eight-year-olds have made a winning combination around the region's showjumping arenas.
Rebecca Taylor and her pony, Kitty, have been wowing the crowds with their performances during the past two years.
The Denbury primary school pupil and her Welsh section B pony have had a succession of wins in recent months including a supreme showing championship at Plymstock.
And grandmum, Wendy Eastley, was very proud of Rebecca's achievements.
She said: 'Horses are in Rebecca's blood in many ways.
'I run a livery yard near Newton Abbot and Rebecca's mum, Helen also had ponies.
'Her sister, Abigail, who is five, also rides regularly so it runs in the family.
'Rebecca has been in the saddle since being 22-months-old and has been with Kitty for two-and-a-half years.
'They have done very well together riding against children in the same age group.
'Rebecca prefers dressage to jumping but she is very keen.
'It's too early to talk about the future, but as long as she keeps enjoying things all will be well.'
Madeline Holden, a friend of the family, paid tribute to Rebecca and Kitty too.
She said: 'They are a winning combination that's for sure.
'Rebecca is a remarkable little girl.
'And it's amazing to see the rosettes and trophies she has won.
'We have seen so much sad news from around the world recently it has been so nice to hear of this little girl's achievements.'
