JUDGES had their work cut out at this year’s Stokeinteignhead Village Show.

The annual event attracted more than 300 exhibits from 50-plus entrants with tables at the Village Hall groaning under the weight of flowers, fruit and vegetables and a plethora of home-baked treats, plus arts and craft exhibits, photography and children’s section - all vying for a coveted prize.

‘It really was a really well-attended event enjoyed by everyone,’ said Barbara Fearn, one of the show’s organising committee members.

‘We had a lot of first time entrants this year, both adults and children, and the standard was such that it made it difficult for the judges with some very close scores.’

Vegetable judge Joe Wallis was impressed with the standard of entries for fruit and veg. ‘It’s been a difficult growing season and still relatively early but the standard on show here is still very good,’ he said.
