A MOORLAND town hit the right note at the end of August when it celebrated all things musical for a good
Chagford Music Day featured an incredible lineup of 30 local bands and musicians, bringing together diverse sounds and genres to entertain families, friends, and visitors alike.
The occasion not only celebrated the wealth of local talent but also aimed to raise vital funds for local environmental charity Proper Job's initiative to install a heating system for their book and clothing cabins.
Founded in 1995, Proper Job is an environmental charity committed to reducing waste and promoting sustainability. It has become one of the UK’s pioneering community reuse centres, located on the northeast edge of Dartmoor.
‘The Music Day was a celebration of everything we love about our community,’ said Alison Sallis, CEO at Proper Job.
‘It was heartwarming to see so many people come together, not just to enjoy great music, but also to support an initiative that will benefit everyone during the colder months. We are truly grateful for the generosity of everyone involved.’
The town’s community rallied together and enjoyed a day filled with fantastic performances, food stalls, while at the same time contributing to a worthy cause.
‘The atmosphere was electric, showcasing the rich cultural fabric of our area and the generosity of those who call it home,’ continued Alison.
‘We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the musicians, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who made this event possible. ‘
