Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) are currently presenting Sir David Bintley’s magical production of Cinderella at Theatre Royal Plymouth this week.

Sir David Bintley’s Cinderella remains one of the most popular ballets in BRB’s repertoire, featuring sumptuous sets and costumes, virtuoso dance and magical transformations. Sergei Prokofiev’s sweeping musical score takes audiences on an unforgettable fairytale journey, played live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

The visually stunning production, which opened yesterday (Wednesday, April 9) features incredible scenic and costume designs by the acclaimed artist John Macfarlane.

Cinderella continues to thrill audiences across the world; following on from the UK tour, the production will then play at Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan in Japan at the end of June this year

Step into the magical world of Cinderella, where Fairy Godmothers triumph over cruel stepmothers, pumpkins turn into sparkling carriages and a jewelled slipper changes one young woman’s life forever. This timeless story of love, courage and kindness reminds us all to have faith in our wildest dreams; one day they might just come true.

Praised by audiences and critics alike, former Company Director David Bintley’s Cinderella is a sure-fire mix of wonderful dance, spectacular scenery, and a cast of characters that include mice, lizards and even a dancing frog – something to capture every imagination.

Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Director, Carlos Acosta said: “Cinderella remains an enduring classic in the BRB canon and a firm audience favourite. John Macfarlane’s awe-inspiring designs pair perfectly with Sir David Bintley’s beautiful choreography and Prokofiev’s rousing music in this spellbinding production.

“Cinderella is one of our most visually stunning productions, demonstrating BRB’s commitment to touring the very best that ballet can offer to audiences across the UK, and around the globe.”

Tickets for the production, which runs until April 12, are still available from the venue’s website: https://theatreroyal.com/whats-on/brb_cinderella/#book
