CHAGFORD History Society is holding an exhibition in Chagford School Hall on October 1 and 2, about the history of the school and its pupils from 1936 until the present day.

The school became one of the most highly regarded secondary schools in the county, and it’s hoped the exhibition will appeal to former pupils.

It ran agricultural courses from those who wanted to work in farming and connecting industries, and had a strong PE department and produced a champion boxer as well as county champions in cricket, football and running.

The exhibition will contain film footage, archive material, slides and photographs and memorabilia spanning 80 years, as well as personal contributions and memories from past and present pupils and staff.

The event will be open from 10am until 5pm on both days and for a short period from 4.30pm until 6pm on Friday, September 30.
