SHOULD you want to vote at a polling station in the local elections on Thursday, May 4, you will need to show an accepted form of photographic identification.

To find out what the accepted forms of identification are, visit the Electoral Commission website here.

If you don’t have the right photo ID, and need to apply for a Voter Authentication Certificate, the application deadline is tomorrow at 5pm.

You can apply for a Voter Authentication Certificate online; you will need to provide a photo as well as your name, address, date of birth and National Insurance number.

If you, or someone you know, needs a Voter Authority Certificate but doesn't have access to the internet at home, all of Devon's libraries have computers which can be used free of charge to complete an application.
