THE last week of school saw 11 talented linguists from year six in Denbury Primary School receive a unique NCFE KS2 languages skills qualification at the end of their primary school education.

The children, who are taught weekly by Julie Scotting of Lingotot South Devon, are the only children in Devon to achieve the qualification this year, recognising their skills in French listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Mrs Scotting said: ‘All 11 children achieved the highest level three in this qualification, which is particularly impressive as through their commitment they have managed to gain it in only three terms.

'Previous to this year, they were learning Spanish, so have adjusted well to mastering a second language in KS2. I am very proud of them all.’
