THE demolition of a mostly derelict site in Newton Abbot will get underway next week.

Demolition of buildings within the Bradley Mills site will begin from January 6.

The demolition work is essential to release the site for redevelopment and is a great opportunity for Newton Abbot to bring a former industrial site back into use, Teignbridge District Council have said.

Teignbridge says it has worked to ensure any ecological impact is kept to a minimum.

Demolition work will take place between 9am and 5pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.

No work will be taking place on Sundays.

Residents in the local area have been contacted and advised of the works, expected noise levels and other environmental considerations.

It is anticipated the works will be completed by the end of March 2025.
