A PLANNING application to create a dedicated dog-walking field in Liverton has been submitted to Teignbridge District Council (TDC)
25/00465/FUL is seeking permission to change Liverton Brook Field from an agricultural field to a dedicated dog walking and exercise field.
The site is adjacent to Liverton Football Club.
The proposal aims to ‘provide a secure, controlled and accessible space for dog owners and trainers to exercise and socialise their dogs in a safe environment’, the access and use statement for 25/00465/FUL says.
A target date of June 18 has been given for a decision on the application.
The field will support various activities, including general dog walking and agility training, the statement adds.
The proposed development will include a new area at the front of the site, providing a secure and off-road informal parking facility.
There will be space for two cars.
The field’s external access gate will be unlocked each morning and locked each evening, preventing any unauthorised access outside of operational hours, the Mid-Devon Advertiser understands.
Access to the site will be controlled using a coded entry system.
The field will operate on a pre booked hourly slot system, which will be managed through an online booking platform.
The entire perimeter of the field, which will be available for use throughout the year, will be fully enclosed with deer fencing.
During the spring and summer months, the site will be open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, while in the autumn and winter months, the hours will be 8am to 6pm.
‘The proposed dog walking field at Liverton Brook Field represents a well-planned, secure and beneficial development that will provide a safe and managed space for local dog owners’ the access statement, prepared by Co Create Architects, says.
‘With clear operational procedures, robust access control and a commitment to responsible site management, the development will offer a positive contribution to the local community while protecting the surrounding environment’ the statement adds.
