DAWLISH Women Walking Football Club are kicking off the winter season with a new venue and an appeal for more players.

The new venue will be at Teignmouth Community School’s astro turf on Fridays from 6.45-8pm. The club is also appealing for new players. Organiser Kirsten Pybus said: ‘It’s a really fast growing sport in this country.

‘We’re at an age where our minds become faster than our bodies, so this sports gives people a chance to get a buzz from doing a team sport, but at a slightly slower pace, although you’d be surprised how fast paced the game still is!’

The club is aimed at women over 40 with previous expirience in football and are keen to get involved in the sport again. For those totally new to football, another session is available on Wednesdays at 4.30pm, at Sandy Park Dawlish.
