YOUNGSTERS at a Dawlish school have been learning about policing and art.
The varied experiences were enjoyed by children from Orchard Manor School, a special school which provides education for children with communication and interaction needs, autism and learning needs.
As part of a topic on crime and punishment, students from Lilac class spent time at Teignmouth police office with Dawlish neighbourhood beat officer PC George Miller.
PC Miller showed the students around the station, in the police cars and they were even allowed to try on the police uniform.
A school spokesman said: ‘Lilac class had an amazing learning experience and PC Miller gave them a bundle of souvenirs to take home.’
Meanwhile, Teignmouth award-winning artist, illustrator and author Laura Wall was also a recent visitor to the school in John Nash Drive.

Laura led an art workshop with Year 7 students.
With direction from Laura, the students made their own art, starting with a pencil drawing, then painting with watercolours, imitating Laura’s style.
