The national flag of Ukraine was raised in Dawlish yesterday (Friday, Feb 24) as the the town remembered the start of the conflict in Ukraine.

Dawlish residents stood in support with Ukrainians who had escaped the horrors of the past twelve months and who are now living on the area as the ceremony took place.

After a short welcome to those attending by Dawlish mayor Cllr Lisa Mayne there were prayers and a minute's silence followed by the poignant sound of Ukrainian voice proudly singing their national anthem.
