A DARTMOOR-based charity overseeing the construction of a new community space is closing in on its fundraising target.

Widecombe Community Hall CIO has reached £43,000 of its £50,000 target for its 'Local Community' fund - that's 86%.

'All of our local fundraisers small and large have contributed to this total' a spokesman said.

'A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this project... let's keep going!' the spokesman added.
