A RALLY taking place outside the Dartmoor National Park headquarters in Parke, Bovey Tracey ended in cheers on Friday, after the authority unanimously voted to appeal the so-called 'camping ban'.
The rally was organised to be 'a peaceful protest outside the meeting, to encourage DNPA to appeal the decision.'
At the meeting, authority members unanimously agreed to go ahead with legal action after the Court of Appeal granted leave to appeal the High Court judgment in the case of Darwall vs Dartmoor National Park Authority.
Ryan Wiltshire, founder of the Dartmoor Wild Camping Action Group and organiser of the rally, said: 'It went fantastically as I'm sure you have heard!
'But the hard work starts here, collecting evidence of wild camping being a local custom and raising the funds in total!'
