ON Wednesday, December 7, the ‘Cuddly Toy Gang’, who have been running bingo nights at Ashcombe Village Hall, presented cheques to four Dawlish-based charities they are supporting.
£1,000 was given to Dawlish Disability Transport, £250 to AIMs, who support youngsters with learning disabilities and their families, £250 to St Nectan’s Church, Ashcombe, and £250 to the Strand Centre, Dawlish.
This were in addition to the £1,000 which was given away in June.
The presentations were followed by a ‘Christmas Bingo Special’ with more than 70 people attending, and a raffle with an assortment of much sort-after prizes.
During the evening gifts were presented to Tom Hunt, Sara Cartwright and Frank and Carol Waister, all of whom helped to make the evenings as successful as they have been.
The Cuddly Toy Gang were then presented with flowers and a mug as a token of appreciation for all their hard work.
Bingo sessions will begin anew on January 4.
