A TRAIN traveller has been fined £220 for failing to pay a £5.95 fare.
Charlotte Clowry, 23, from Hartlepool, was accused of travelling on a Great Western Railway service at Newton Abbot without having paid the fare and with intent to avoid paying.
Magistrates found the case, brought by GWR, proved in her absence.
She was fined £220, ordered to pay £5.95 compensation and a victim surcharge of £88 along with £180 costs, making a total of £493.95.
