A RECENT meeting of a Teignbridge town council saw the authority welcome a new member.

Buckfastleigh Town Council welcomed new councillor, Paul Georghiades during the authority’s recent meeting.

Elsewhere in the meeting, the town council was pleased to award £500 to the Community Newsletter to assist with the cost of printing.

Also, the Emergency Plan was updated and the council is seeking volunteers to join the Volunteer Emergency Response Team, which will provide back-up to the emergency services.

Residents are reminded of the upcoming Town and Parish Council Elections, which will take place on May 4 – voters now need to show a photo ID to vote at polling stations.
