MORE than 75 people recently attended a cost-of living event to help residents in Dawlish.
Visitors were able to find advice and support from 20 different organisations and for those needing further support follow up appointments were made.
Feedback suggested that those who attended the event, held at the Manor House, found it useful, and they felt able to act on the advice and support they received.
Organisations involved included: Teignbridge District Council, Teign Housing, South West Water, Teignbridge Citizens Advice, Assist Teignbridge and the Department for Work and Pensions.
Information on offer included advice about benefits, welfare support, energy saving advice and finding cheaper suppliers.
Community groups were also on hand to offer help including Dawlish Community Larder, Dawlish Community Transport, Roots Community Enhancement, Volunteering in Health, Dawlish Library, Assist Teignbridge, Citizens Advice Teignbridge, Teignbridge CVS, The Strand Community Centre and Hubstore Dawlish.
