NO, DEVON and Cornwall Police haven’t increased their vehicle numbers and it’s not a case of the USA’s finest expanding their patch.

This American cop car was spotted in Newton Abbot town centre near the Mid-Devon Advertiser offices earlier in the week.

Rumour is it used to belong to the late Cornish funnyman Jethro and was used in the creation of computer hit Need for Speed. 

The car, decked out in Detroit Police livery is believed to now be owned by a Newton Abbot man, so if you see it in your rearview mirror, don’t panic, they’re not going to take you to the penitentiary!
