Thirty youngsters, parents, carers, teachers and councillors joined together at the weekend with Touch Wood Enterprises Ltd to build a new environmental play structure in Chudleigh Knighton, behind the existing play park. The project, which has cost around £9,000, has been managed by Hannah Standen, from Teignbridge Council, which has provided the funds via the Playing for Real fund. The build followed a design workshop at Chudleigh Knighton Primary School and the design and carving of the entranceway sign by the Chudleigh Knighton Youth Group. Hennock parish councillor Steve Chown (at the top of the picture) attended the workshop on both days.'There has been a real community spirit with the young people and adults working together to create this environmental play area,' he said.'The structure is due to be completed within a couple of weeks with the installation of the monkey hoops and the bark.
