THIS year has been described as one of ‘great progress’ by a Dartmoor-based charity that is a hard at work building a brand new community hall.
Widecombe Community Hall CIO, a registered charity overseeing the construction of a new community space in Widecombe-in-the Moor, is going from strength to strength, with 2023 being another year of progress toward its goals.
‘It’s been another year of great progress for us’ a spokesperson for the chairty said.
In addition to the hard work involved with building, the charity has kept busy with several fundraising events throughout the year, including but not limited to:Games Night, Picnic in the Park, Handmade Quilt Raffle, Duck Race, and the Jim Causley concert.
‘We were thrilled to be chosen as the Charity of the Year by the Widecombe Fair Committee and we drew our grand Quilt Raffle ticket at the fair itself’ the spokesperson added.
‘More foundation work has continued on the site with the completion of the swale, a new all weather notice board, finishing the bridge with kerbstones and a tidy of the whole site ready for winter.
