A BUG hotel construction will be among the highlights of a community garden wildlife day in Newton Abbot on Saturday, April 21.

Transition Newton Abbot is holding the event in its community garden at Vicary’s Field, near Baker’s Park, from 11am to 3pm.

Helen Chessum, of the transition group, said: ‘Everyone is welcome to join in this gardening for wildlife day.

‘We’ll be creating a bug hotel, to provide homes to conserve insects beneficial to the garden, alongside flowers for the bees and mini ponds.

‘Come and join us and bring food to share.’

Vicary’s Field is near Baker’s Park. To get there cross the footbridge over the River Lemon by Baker’s Park car park or walk or cycle the footpath along the river from Asda.
