THE closure of a key road through Newton Abbot is set for October.

The one-way directional closure of East Street is to allow Wales and West Utilities to replace the existing gas pipes.

The work is set to begin on October 7 and run until December 13.

Traffic coming from the Penn Inn roundabout will be able to access East Street as usual, but traffic entering from the Asda end of the town will not.
