VOLUNTEERS from Heath Rail Link were out in force again on Platform Nine of Newton Abbot Train Station for their third annual clear-up of said platform.

Neil Bromley, Alan Forsyth, Davy Warren, Mike Cooke and Allan Payne spent Saturday, April 29, clearing weeds, planting flowers, repairing planters and making sure the former Motorail Platform was in a presentable condition.

The Heath Rail Link is a public interest group formed to facilitate the re-opening of the existing railway between Newton Abbot and Heathfield, and, perhaps, even all the way to Bovey Tracey.

Newton Abbot mayor, Cllr Carol Bunday, joined members of Heath Rail Link and was filled in on the group’s latest work.
