TEIGNMOUTH Classical Music Festival returns to the town this weekend with a chance to enjoy live music at its best.
Organised by Vive La Musique!, the festival’s aims are to make classical music accessible to all, draw on local talent, combine the skills of professional and amateur musicians, encourage participation by people of all ages.
This year’s programme features the Exeter Camerata Orchestra on Saturday (March 5) with young violin virtuoso Joel Munday, an evening of Myth and Magic with Flute Cake, a jazz and classical foray into the animal kingdom (Bugs Beasts and Birds) with Alfie Pugh (piano and xylophone), Rebecca Willson (violin and piano), David Jones (guitar) and John Donnelly (double bass), Choral Evensong with the St Peter’s Singers of Exeter Cathedral and the infectious enthusiasm of the Exeter Youth Orchestra.
The Festival is also organising free concerts at Hazeldown and Teignmouth Community School (Mill Lane) primary schools.
